What is Optimax?

Each component on the Optimax power head plays an integral role in ensuring that a precise measure of petrol and air is delivered to the correct configuration, at the right time, to the proper place, in every cylinder.  A high pressure fuel/air mixture is injected directly into each of the six cylinders and burned up after the exhaust ports have closed.  The Optimax technology eliminates the escape of unburned mixture.  The smoke-free result is that carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions are slashed.

All Mariner Optimax outboards exceed EPA 2006, the stringent emissions regulations for the future.
