What is E-tec?     Evinrude E-tec outboards are sold with a no scheduled dealer maintenance for the first 300 hours (3 years)! These engines use 50% less fuel than their competitive direct injection engine and 75% less than typical 2-stroke carbureted engines.

Designed with "low friction" there are no belts, no power head gears, no cams and mechanized oil pumps. The E-tec is one of the only outboards to meet EU2006 and CARB 3 -star emissions standards.
